I've not got the camera to hand at present as it's packed away but I'll try and remember to get it out in the next few days and take a look. It does look like the kind of thing one should be able to carefully take apart and put back together if one is careful but with so many small pieces and it being a bit special to me I decided not to risk it. I was going to send it off to be repaired but then other priorities took over and it got forgotten.Sally Thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11074408354145020529noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-393920572991915360.post-69094821176852794222012-04-24T20:36:04.218+01:002012-04-24T20:36:04.218+01:00Sad to hear that, I really hope everything's g...Sad to hear that, I really hope everything's going back to normal pretty soon...

I do have your very same camera (actually I have both a III and a IIIR) so don't hesitate to ask any question about it whenever you have time to dedicate to this. I don't know why but I love this camera, it really did catch my eye the first time I saw it... and I'd be more than happy to help someone else putting his/her camera back to work :-D This camera has its quirks, and probably a short video or a couple of pictures with arrows and some writings would prove most helpful. Based on your comments I am not fully sure if, what you took to be the shutter release, is actually the locking lever for the rollfilm back, or maybe (since the pictures show the camera at the "T" position) you are releasing the shutter without actually having cocked the shutter first (for "T" and "B" positions, shutter should not be cocked in advance)J. It has become a shelf queen but not because I can't be bothered with it but because unexpected health issues have got seriously in the way this year.

I'll check out the range finder advice but as for the winding issue, I've only tried it with one of the backs, it never occurred to me that the back might be the cause of the problem. Yes, both are 6x9.Sally Thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11074408354145020529noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-393920572991915360.post-17024258673245372802012-04-24T16:51:23.288+01:002012-04-24T16:51:23.288+01:00So... 5 months later, is it now a shelf queen or d...So... 5 months later, is it now a shelf queen or did you manage to have it serviced? ;-)

The rangefinder thing, you made sure it is not a user error, such as the struts not being correctly positioned for your Anticomar? When opening the front, it first locks on the position for the WA Orthar, and you need to press the two metal buttons (one in the upper part, one in the lower part) to expand it a bit more until it reached the second stopper, for the 100mm lens.

And the issue with the winding happens on both rollfilm backs? It'll mean posting it but they pack up quite compact and seem pretty sturdy so I'm sure if I pad it well it'll be OK.Sally Thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11074408354145020529noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-393920572991915360.post-22517350635967875402011-11-29T16:14:21.325+00:002011-11-29T16:14:21.325+00:00It doesn't wind on properly. After releasing the shutter if I wind the film on it doesn't wind, the leaver moves but the sprocket doesn't just like it thinks it has already been wound on. Instead I have to put the back plate in again and fire it a second time. Then I can wind it on.Sally Thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11074408354145020529noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-393920572991915360.post-66051741050516884052011-11-29T12:46:22.499+00:002011-11-29T12:46:22.499+00:00Have it serviced, indeed.
